Angelita Quinteros With over 25 years of experience she has works on many international projects. Currently she is Product Manager for Global Logistics Supply, a logistics company based in New York.
BackgroundAngelita Quinteros came to the United States in the mid 1980s and received an Associates Degree at LaGuardia Community College with a major in Business Administration.
In 1985, she was hired by IMECO, a logistics supply company. She stayed through the late 1980s, when it merged to become IHC Services. In the mid 1990s, she worked for the Screen Actors Guild, the nation's largest labor union representing working actors. Later, she worked for an American-Japanese trading company. In 1998, she returned to IHC Services. She departed IHC in 2006, and went to work for her current employer, GLS. Additional InformationGuayaquil is Ecuador's largest city. Ms. Quinteros’ father was a high-quality artisan jeweler, and her mother a housewife. Ms. Quinteros is a middle child. She is proud of her family and her Ecuadorian roots and adheres to a strong Catholic faith. Ms. Quinteros went to elementary school through high school. In 1983, she earned a degree in Business Administration and Marketing at the University of Guayaquil, Faculty of Economic Science. Before she emigrated to the United States she worked for two companies.
During her high school years she worked for a travel agency. And from 1980-82, she worked for an importer of general house goods and furnishings. After she arrived in the United States in 1982, she registered with LaGuardia Community College for English courses. In 1985, she received an Associates Degree, with a major in Business Administration. She has been happily married since 1983, and has no children. She speaks, writes and reads both Spanish and English. In 1992, Angelita proudly became a United States citizen.
In 1985, she was hired as one of the administration/operations personnel for International Manufacturing Equipment Company (IMECO). IMECO was a small international exporter and trader of construction, mining equipment and parts, and Ms. Quinteros assisted the sales and shipping department. In 1988, IMECO merged with another small company, Hofortech Corporation, an exporter and trader for mining equipment which owned a parts cross-reference system which made the research resourcing comprehensive. This system made Ms. Quinteros an expert in managing and supplying spare parts.
In 1989, the owners of IMECO and Hofortech Corporation sold their shares to TORNO America, which later changed the name of the company to IHC Services. The new corporate structure brought Ms. Quinteros new opportunities to advance. She was given 90% of the South American accounts for spare parts and 20% of accounts from Europe and Asia. Ms. Quinteros worked for IHC Services until July 1994, at which time IHC moved most of its operations to North Carolina, leaving only small offices in the New York area and in Hauppauge, New Jersey. In 1995 she went to work for the Screen Actors Guild, the nation's largest labor union representing working actors. There, she worked in the Production Dept, which built projects, both large and small, to fit any type of production, locale, talent, director, etc. The operation developed resources for theatrical, television, commercial, music video. Ms. Quinteros loved the work. It appealed to her interest in movies and television, and she found it interesting to see how the production was done. In April 1997, she started working for a U.S.-Japanese trading company. She focuses primarily on importing resin (a component used to produce chewing gum). In April 1998 she left the trading company for another importer/exporter for chemicals. In August 1998, she rejoined IHC Services Inc., under the direction of then-CEO Ezio Testa. During the 1997-98 period, the company had obtained
many new manufacturing, distribution and other agreements. She was hired to assist the Vice-President of Sales & Marketing. Later that year she became the parts manager.
In 2000, Ezio Testa, the CEO of IHC, promoted her to Principal Project Coordinator. In 2006, IHC ceased operations.
In 2006-2007, she became product manager of Global Logistics Solutions, a
representation/distribution company. |
